PriceQuality Cant argue too much here. This is their lowest priced seat, and is the most practical of the bunch as well. Got a cramped living spaceGot kids Most importantly, got a wifegirlfriend who wont let you put a permanent rig in the middle of the living room or bedroom This is the chair for you Ive got a family of six living in a three bedroom house, so space is a bit at a premium. I can fold the chair down and put it away out of sight easy. None of the other chairs offered by Playseat can do this. Youd think theyd charge a premium for it being practical, but not so. Im pleased with what I got for the money I paid. Its not perfect, but few things in this world are. Comfort This chair is very, very comfortable once youve got it set up how you like. Ive fallen asleep in this thing because of how it cradles you. It may be a little too comfortable in that case. Theres only one minor ding I have against it in the comfort category, but Im going to leave that criticism in the design section. Design The guys at Playseat actually did a pretty good job designing this seat considering the value you get for it. Ive got some problems with the chair, and this part of the review is going to mostly go over the negatives I have with the design. The Alfa Romeo Montreal Website. SimXperience Full Motion Racing Simulator Packages offer world class racing simulation, Stage V, Stage 5 Full turnkey package ships fully assembled. Great for driver. Ive got a Logitech G2. Im sure most people who opt for an entry level setup do, and the wheel itself mounts up perfectly to the mounting plate. They include the hardware you need. You just line up the wheel with the holes on the plate and mount it on. Theres a big knob on the bottom of the plate for adjusting the tilt on the wheel. The knob tightens down a small, plastic splined piece into a mating splined piece on the plate itself. Rfactor Car Setup Tool' title='Rfactor Car Setup Tool' />This makes the wheel fairly secure when tightened and has a minimum of slop. My only concern is that both spline surfaces are plastic, so the teeth might get chewed up if you dont tighten the pieces down perfectly straight and aligned with each other. Just take care with alignment and there should be no long term troubles. Will you be adjusting this a lotThat depends. If you put the chair away after use, you will be adjusting this every single time you. Same with the pedals. In order to get a G2. If youre handy, you can buy an L bracket at a home center and fabricate your own, but I didnt mind paying for it. The shifter screws onto the plate, and the plate is clamped into the wheel with its main clamps. Thats it. The problem with this design is that you cant fold the chair up with the shifter installed. You have to unclamp the bracket and slide it out of the wheel. With a little effort you can figure out how to fold the chair up and keep the shifter nice and tidy when folded, but its an added hassle. One major positive to how the seat is designed is how the entire wheel section pivots out of the way for you to get in and out of the seat. Theres an extension arm at the foot of the chair to compensate for the balance when this is done. The chair would flop over without it, so its good they included that feature. The chair is a bit of a hassle to get in and out of. Its slung very low, which is part of why its so comfortable. But getting in and out can be a chore. Now onto the pedals. There has been a lot of criticism about the red plastic screws on the foot pedals breaking. Im going to tell you the reason they break is that people over tighten them. A lot. You dont need to go at them like a 4. Give them about a half turn once you start to feel them making contact with the bar. Make them snug, not tight. Do this and your screws wont break, and theyll hold just fine. That having been said, I wish they could have put detents into the bar for easily repeatable settings. One of the more appealing aspects of this chair is that you can fold it up and put it away. The downside to this is that you lose your pedal setting every single time you put it away. One work around for this is to get the pedals adjusted how you like, and then mark the bars with pencil so that you can see where to lock the sliders down. A bit of a hassle, but certainly not a deal breaker. A nice aspect is that the bar itself pivots up and down. You can fold up a towel, find a box or something else, and adjust the pedal angle. Theres no built in clamp for angle adjustment, but at this price point what can you expect And now for the biggest beef I have with the entire chair. This would be an absolute deal breaker for some people the chair is very, very, VERY narrow. I dont know who Playseat has working in their testingQA department, but they all must be super skinny and small. I cant believe no one noticed andor addressed this issue before deployment. Im not a big person by any means, and I barely squeeze into it. There are metal rings used to connect the arm straps to the bars. These rings cut into my thighs because of how narrow the chair is. If youre built like a child, have no worries. If youre average sized, take caution. If youre a big boy or girl, forget it. Playseats lack of attention on this one aspect is appalling. Fun Is it fun You bet. Once you get it set up, its a lot of fun. Environmental Ethics Pdf. Your wheel and cables are a one time setup once youve got the wheel base aligned with the plate and the wires wrapped to the lengths you need. Adjusting wheel tilt and pedal length every time sucks, but the chair folds up, so its a given. One last ding on the fun factor is how heavy this rig is once you have everything installed. With a G2. 7 setup, this thing weighs about 3. Weight and adjustments are downsides, but dont ding the final score because theres little Playseat could do to change these things. It simply comes with the territory. Overall The TL DR version A great entry level chair for people on a budget or people who have a demanding roommate. The only chair in the lineup that folds up to be put away. Build quality is good. Be gentle with the plastic, ESPECIALLY the pedal screws snug, NOT tight. Take caution if youre a big person because the chair is extremely narrow. Its a lot of fun, negatives aside, and youll never go back to an office chair after experiencing this. Definitely worth the money.
